Senior Electrical Development Engineer

We are seeking highly motivated and suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our Conversions and Accessories team in our fixed term Development Engineer roles.
 
As a key player in achieving the common goal of meeting customer requirements and providing technical expertise, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of genuine accessories and vehicle conversions models.
 
In this “hands-on” position you will require passion, commitment and a desire to design and develop innovative products in the automotive industry.

The Responsibilities....
 
·Project Coordination of cross functional design teams
·Lead and drive the products from the concept phase through to launch – project manage and release
·Development and Testing
·Design and development of accessories
·Regular reporting to management on process of project work
·Manage suppliers and maintain effective working relationship
·Capture and validate all design cost variations
·Monitor quality issues and facilitate counter measures
·Compliance with all relevant government regulations, statutory requirements and company standards
·Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance/support
 
The Necessary Skills & Experience... 
 
·Engineering qualification (mechanical)
·3+ years experience in a similar role
·Experienced and competent in designing, developing, evaluating, testing, approving and monitoring automotive parts
·Proven experience in Project management
·Sound knowledge of key life testing and correlation of bench testing with vehicle testing and field data
·Working knowledge of Federal and State vehicle design and registration Regulations
·Strong  knowledge of key automotive systems (mechanical, hydraulic etc)
·FEA & engineering design validation process
·Proficient in the use of CATIA V5 CAD Software and interpreting engineering documents and drawings.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills – demonstrated experience in building relationships with stakeholders
·Flexible to work on a FIXED TERM contract
