Craftmanship Engineer

Our leading global Automotive client is looking for Craftmanship Engineer at Melbourne for ongoing contract role.

Key Responsibilities :

·GPDS deliverables to build best in the world craftsmanship into all future programs and meeting Global Craftsmanship Business Plan objectives 
·Use GPDS and Global Craftsmanship processes, knowledge and timing to implement Ford Craftsmanship Requirements into new products
·Prepare and cascade targets and roadmaps for craftsmanship programs at the vehicle, system, and part level and ensure they are agreed to by key stakeholders and ensure agreed targets are implemented. 
·Create craftsmanship CAD sections and take the lead in having them implemented.
·Develop a high level of knowledge of craftsmanship, tooling, manufacturing and assembly technology, haptics and consumer mindset and apply to target setting and implementation
·Support program gateway reviews by collecting data and preparing and presenting summaries
·Give guidance to suppliers and sign off in preparation for OK to Grain.
Skills and Experience required :

·Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and or Automotive Design or Industrial Preferred
·Experience working on product engineering or a related field
·Experience using Digital Buck and other CAD packages Ideally CATIA
·A keen aesthetic sense and an understanding of symmetry, harmony and craftsmanship
·Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies.
·Strong product interest/knowledge and a passionate advocate of the customer.
·Proven ability for lateral thinking and a proven ability to visualize in 3D.
·Analytical and conceptual thinking ability. - Outstanding communication & reporting skills. - Ability to manage and prioritize effectively. - Drive for results and enthusiasm.
