We are currently looking for a Project Engineer with construction and building services experience to work on-site with our client on their construction project.
Formal qualification in Project / Construction Management and/or relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineer preferred).
Previous experience in managing commercial, industrial, office fit out of existing/new building projects, large air-conditioning system installation and/or road construction.
Demonstrated ability to organize, manage and co-ordinate building & construction activities to ensure time, cost, quality, safety & environmental control for the successful delivery of projects.
Possess technical knowledge in building & constructions.
Practical in problem solving, analysis, critical evaluation and information literacy.
Thorough understanding of the relevant Australian Standards & Building Code of Australia so to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with regulatory requirement.
Formal OH&S training with Certificate III in Occupational Health & Safety (Building & Construction) to ensure all works are carried out to the relevant OH&S standards.
Strong oral & written communications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (eg. Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…).
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Site inspection to gather as-built information, prepare technical specifications, cost estimates & timing plan, etc… using Microsoft applications (includes all associated building services such as mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulics services, etc.).
Assist the facilities manager in preparation of project submissions to gain management approval and funding as required.
Prepare technical & financial evaluation of quotes.
Seek advice from and liaise with external specialist consultants, local authorities, etc. as required during all stages of projects.
Co-ordinate and liaise with internal stakeholders.
Management of site industrial relations.
Project / construction management including weekly meetings, preparation of weekly reports and timing charts to update on job status.
Co-ordinate construction activities to ensure that OH&S, environmental and timing constraints are met.
Oversee works to ensure that all aspects of the specifications are met.
Appropriate filing of all project documentation & material.
